Spring is the perfect time to clean out your closets and the cobwebs in your mind. It’s also a good time to clear out those people and their behaviors that do not serve you.

I don’t mean that you should cut off loved ones, but that you can detach from accommodating to their immature behaviors (and melt downs). It’s time to let go of trying to help and fix them — at your expense.

Clearing out the cobwebs in your own mind is your first step. You are smart and talented and have common sense. Show it. Your ASD family members cannot progress if you hold yourself back. They need you to be authentic so that the boundaries are clear.

Clear mind and clear boundaries give your “Aspie” direction to find their authentic self too — if they want to. It’s much better to forge a relationship with two strong, healthy and independent people — who are open to change and growth and becoming.
