Topic: TELECONFERENCE: Take a Vacation From Your Caretaker Role

When: Monday, July 18th at 12 pm Pacific Time

This is not a very fun sounding topic, but I want you to take it seriously. You work very hard for your loved ones on the Spectrum all year long. When summer comes, you are worn out (and depressed) but you don’t get a vacation do you?

Maybe you should take a vacation — a vacation from always being the “default parent,” and the calming influence. Take a vacation from finishing up what your ASD spouse can never seem to finish. Take a vacation from worry over the household management — or dare I say paying the bills?

Even if you can only take a few hours off or a few days off from your overly responsible caretaker role, it may work wonders for your spirit. Being with others who share your NT ways is a sure fire way to re-energize.

This teleconference is dedicated to enumerating the ways you can take a summer break from your inordinate responsibilities. Even if for just this one hour, you will be recognized for all you do.

When you join this teleconference, please choose a quiet place, without interruption, so that you can feel free to participate. Thank you.
