It’s inevitable really. All you want is some guidance about how to resolve problems between you, but your “Aspie” sees this as an attempt to “fix” them or change them in some way to suit you.

The reason they resist is that they do not understand how to problem solve relationship dilemmas, through the give and take of conversations, such as we might have in therapy. Instead they view the request as one sided and as criticism.

At this conference I will walk you through why you get this question and how to get around it. I’m not promising that they will go to therapy with you, but I can help you make the request with less frustration.
